Fall 2022 Recruitment

Join us

Dear Applicant,

Welcome to Delta Phi Epsilon’s Fall 2022 Rush! We are super excited that you are interested in joining our amazing organization. Delta Phi Epsilon (DPhiE) is UC Berkeley’s only co-ed professional international relations fraternity, aiming to connect people from all types of backgrounds with a common interest in global affairs. Since 1923, the Epsilon Chapter of DPhiE has delivered incredible alumni who have gone on to work for a wide number of different organizations such as the State Department, Chevron, Facebook, and the World Bank. Being a member of DPhiE not only provides you with the skills to grow professionally, but also to grow personally through friendships, mentorships, and a strong international alumni network. We are proud to be part of an organization that represents individuals with diverse backgrounds and career interests who share a common passion for global affairs, diplomacy, and pursuing opportunities abroad.

With that being said, this fall we are holding three rush events that aim to introduce you to the members of the fraternity and the fraternity as a whole. “Meet the Chapter” (Thursday 9/1) is a business casual event where you will not only have the opportunity to interact with active members and other fellow applicants, but also learn more about what Delta Phi Epsilon is about. The second rush event, “Perspectives on Professionalism” (Tuesday, 9/6), is a business professional event that will include a lecture from Hector Cardenas, from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, and offer you the chance to explore future professional goals. The third and final rush event is our “Global Game Night” (Thursday 9/8), which is a campus casual event consisting of international relations-themed games and trivia. In this event, you will have the opportunity to socialize with the fraternity in a more relaxed environment, so as they would say in Yu-Gi-Oh “Get your game on!” Finally, the application itself is due the following day (Friday 2/7), and it must be completed by 11:59pm if you wish to be eligible for membership.

These rush events not only allow you to interact with our fellow DPhiE members, but they reel in the information you need to see why Delta Phi Epsilon is the right organization for you. We encourage you to take full advantage of these events and approach this process as you would any other networking opportunity.

As Membership Vice Presidents, our role is to assist and oversee the professional and social development of our pledge class throughout the semester. For this spring, we seek to guide this semester’s pledge class in strengthening their professional confidence alongside a community of friendship. We plan to help the new pledge class become strong global citizens united under our organization’s passion to serve our local and global communities. The pledge process consists of lectures from professionals in international affairs, meetings and projects aimed to broaden one’s international horizons, and career building exercises that will help prepare you for whatever your career endeavors may be. Above all, we are here for YOU and will be there every step of the way to see you grow and thrive alongside your pledge class and create bonds within the organization that will last a lifetime.

We look forward to meeting the many new faces that will be joining us this semester! Even more, we are excited to assist and offer you with more information about the rush process and Delta Phi Epsilon as a whole. We can't wait to meet the passionate, intelligent, thoughtful, and amazing people who will soon call themselves the Spring 2020 Pledge Class of Delta Phi Epsilon.

Sincerely,

William Bogdan & Dylan Gervasio
